Features Include:
Our company wants to share that these key steel roll-up door features are standard. There is no need for expensive options or upgrades.
- Minimizes the locking and reinforcement needed to strengthen the door to pass rigorous wind load testing.
- Fewer friction points and less additional weight results in a door that operates better and still yields greater strength than any other available to the self storage industry.
- Meets the requirements of ASCE 7 (American Society of Civil Engineers). The ASCE Standard is used in the Florida Building Code and the International Building Code.
- Applicable opening sizes range from 3′ wide through 10′ wide, with the maximum height being 10′.
- Locking device may be located on the curtain or the bottom bar.
- Doors may be installed on steel, concrete, or filled block jambs.
- Higher wind load ratings are available for certain sizes and can be determined on an individual basis.

Features of the Model 750 Mini Storage Door
Door Springs – During production, each spring is coated with a generous amount of grease that penetrates the pores of the spring with additives, displacing moisture and preventing the formation of rust and corrosion. In addition, this process relieves the friction created between spring coils thereby providing smoother door operation. Finally, the spring and axle assembly is enclosed in a tube to protect them from the elements encountered throughout the life of the door.
Optional Package Protection– Doors stacked on top of each other in transit are going to shift… unless they can be packaged in a way to minimize the sliding that occurs during that time. Roll Up Doors Direct has found the way. As an option, we can suspend each door individually in crates. Whether they travel down the block or across the country, compaction damages, door abrasion and chatter marks are virtually eliminated.
Ratchet Tensioning Device – This ratchet tensioning device is provided as standard equipment on the door. It offers an easier method of tensioning while more accurately fine tuning all the springs on the door at the same time.
Please know that there’s no additional hardware needed. Eight different positions on the tension wheel permit one to perfectly balance the door. There are not any pins needed to carry the tension on the spring… you simply just click it.
Radial Ball Bearings – Roll Up Door supplies radial ball bearings at no additional cost to you. Our permanently lubricated bearings require no maintenance and are guaranteed to last the entire life span of the door.
Door Stops – Our removable door stops are simple to install and prevent the curtain from over traveling the guide when raising the door, clearance is 3″ less than opening height.
Dead Axle and torque tube assembly – This design, noted for its durability and smoother operation with commercial applications, has now been incorporated into the Roll Up Doors Direct self storage door. The tube housing protects the springs and strengthens the axle. Eliminating axle push and shift that can occur with a live axle, the dead axle design allows for a straighter travel path of the door curtain in the guides. The biggest feature of this design is that it affords the fine tuning of any spring adjustment to equally affect all springs on the door at the same time.
Door Options For Model 750
Magnetic Zinc Coated Steel or Optional Stainless Steel Latch – Our patented mini latch features a cover plate made from a heavy gauge yellow zinc coated steel or optional stainless steel. In addition, the latch cover protects the slide from tampering by completely covering the slide, with the exception of a tab used to operate the latch.
To further secure the door, the latch’s two-inch throw, with its magnetic properties, can be incorporated with the new guidemounted security devices. This versatile design affords you the ability to utilize padlocks, cylinder locks or both.
Top Draft Stop – 2 1/4″ Black “L” shaped neoprene weather stripping affixes directly to the door curtain where the curtain meets the header and provides a barrier to weather elements. Rolls up in the roll when the door is in the up position.
Insulation is made of a foil-backed, dual-layer polyethylene air-bubble insulation secured in place with a strong adhesive and joined by mylar film (top draft stop and side draft stops are also included).
Hood – Recommended for exterior mount applications or for cosmetic look. If the door is being mounted on the outside of the building (where the drum is exposed to the weather elements) they’re going to want a hood (or protective over-hang) because the drum of the door isn’t weather-proof and will be damaged by rain, snow, etc. Insulated doors can’t be mounted on the outside of the building or have a reverse curtain.
Side Brush Seal – 2” Polypropylene Side Brush Seal with Aluminum Retainer mounts on the side your frame work. The flexibility of the brush allows complete seal of the roll up door corrugation. Keeping out dust, air flow, pesky insect and rodents.
Header Seal – The header seal is made to attach directly to the header of your door’s opening. Header Seal is gray in color and measures 6″ wide. This is an excellent way to block wind and debris from getting inside storage units or garages.

Universal mount 2” deep 16 gauge galvanized steel guides require no pre-installation modifications for wood, steel, concrete or masonry block applications. Guides have deeper engagement, which allows the curtain to stay in place under more severe wind conditions.
